Abhijit Sharma is a visionary leader with over 30 years of experience in climate change mitigation, sustainability, and rural development across national and international markets. His expertise spans carbon sequestration, biochar production, organic agricultural inputs, climate adaptation, waste management, renewable energy, and strategic leadership.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pune. After a successful corporate career with Unilever, Satyam, and Lanco, as well as entrepreneurial ventures, Abhijit transitioned to the social sector, dedicating his career to sustainable development and livelihoods.
As the Global Head of SLRD, he has pioneered initiatives impacting over 200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) by integrating organic farming, biochar-based soil improvement, value-chain development, and market linkages.
Through YesEarth, he leads climate change mitigation and adaptation programs, promoting carbon sequestration, biochar as a climate solution, organic agri-inputs, renewable energy solutions, and decentralized waste management models. His leadership has mobilized over 1 million youth globally for climate action and sustainability initiatives.
Recognized with the Madhya Pradesh Krishi Award (2017) and Times Now Brand Vision Award (2019), Abhijit envisions a carbon-neutral world, where businesses integrate sustainability and communities thrive through climate-resilient, nature-positive solutions.
