Strengthening Partnerships for a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Nagaland

June 2025 | Nagaland, India

SLRD–YesEarth marked a key milestone in its mission to foster climate resilience and sustainable development through a meaningful and action-oriented visit to Nagaland in June 2025.

The visit was led by Abhijit Sharma, Mission Director of SLRD–YesEarth, who engaged in pivotal discussions to strengthen shared efforts toward building a greener and more resilient Nagaland. He was joined by Mr. B. Limanuksung Longkumer, State Director, whose presence added momentum to the collaborative spirit of the engagements.

One of the significant highlights of the visit was the delegation’s interaction with Shri Sharingain Longkumer, Hon’ble Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. His inspiring commitment to a climate- and disaster-resilient Nagaland underscored the state’s leadership in driving forward-thinking environmental governance.

The team also had the privilege of meeting Smt. Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Hon’ble Minister of Horticulture, Nagaland, who emphasized the critical role of sustainable agriculture, value addition, and rural empowerment. Her vision for enhancing farmer incomes and building resilient rural communities aligns deeply with SLRD’s mission.

These dialogues have opened new avenues for collaboration in areas such as:

  • Climate-smart agriculture
  • Capacity-building programs
  • Community-based resilience planning
